Training simulation, not an operational policing or evidential system

Acceptable use policy

One rule matters above all the others: StateMentor is a training simulation, and real operational information must never enter it.

Never enter real case material

Do not enter real operational information, live or historic case details, real names of victims, witnesses or suspects, or any other real personal data into scenarios, statements, questions, notebooks or support messages. Everything on StateMentor is fictional and must stay that way.

Fair use of the platform

  • Keep your account to yourself, no shared sign-ins, and no attempting to access another member's or another organisation's data.
  • Use the AI witnesses and coach for their training purpose. Don't try to make them produce content unrelated to the exercise, and don't treat anything they say as real-world advice.
  • Submit your own work. Integrity signals (such as paste detection during assessments) create flags for a human trainer to review, honest practice is the point of the platform.
  • Don't probe, scan or test the platform's security without written permission, and don't use automation to scrape content or overload the service.
  • Authors and supervisors: keep scenario content fictional, professional and free of gratuitous detail. Nothing reaches learners without supervisor review.

What happens if this policy is broken

Suspected breaches are reviewed by a person, not decided by software. Depending on severity we may remove content, suspend accounts, or suspend an organisation. If real case material is ever entered despite this policy, tell us immediately via contact us so it can be removed; your organisation will be informed as required.
